If you follow this blog, the name Need Supply Co. should ring a bell. I post items they sell a lot, because in all honesty, if I could afford to, I’d buy everything in their store.
Recently, they started a new contest called THIRTY THURSDAYS where they post a question, pick the best answer, and that person gets 30% off their purchase at Need. Awesome, right? Because their questions are obviously all about fashion and why certain items speak to you, and so on, I figured why not post my reply on here.

Todays question:

If you could go on a shopping spree with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be - where would you go, and why?

It’s like telling someone your favorite song, it’s nearly impossible. The person I’d want to go shopping with out of anyone in the entire world? How do I even begin to narrow that down….You’ve got all of the wonderful style icons of the decades before you…Edie, Audrey, Marilyn, Janis, Anna, Jackie, Nancy…the rebels, the intellects, artists, designers and then today’s greatest. The list seems infinite.
But when I really think about it, I think the perfect person to shop with would be my mom at my age. We are a lot alike and both share a mild obsession with wearing all black. And, while I don’t have a good picture to post, she had some great clothing back in the day. Really unique stuff. Seeing as design today is being influenced by the times before us, I can’t imagine a better person to shop with. Especially considering I rummage through her closet all of the time. And as for the location? Embracing our Italian heritage would be pretty great.
And just for some giggles…I posted the picture above of my parents in Disney World back in the 80s. Oh man, gotta love that solid red sweat suit….
Everyone, whether you’re 21 or 51, wants a flask. There’s a feeling that’s associated with carrying one. Class, mystery, sophistication….
But this flask pictured above takes us all to another level. Aesthetically stunning and still holds two shots! Hipflask is nothing like you’ve ever seen before.

You never realize you have an obsession with something until it’s too late to stop it. Backpacks…not necessarily something most girls would be obsessed with. Handbags, yes. But backpacks? What’s so special about them?
Well….let me tell you.
The Kanken bag. Just as their slogan says, their bag is not just any bag. Not only are the bags waterproof, but they have 2 side zippers and one front AND a removable seat for when you don’t want to sit on the cold, gross ground. Even better, is that the logo doubles as a reflector. So, if you’re biking at night, you’re good to go!
Pictured above is the Classic Kanken in mustard yellow. But I also adore the Grasshopper Green and Ox Red….aka I’m going to have a lot of trouble deciding which one I want when I get money to buy it.
So it comes down to whether or not you need the bag. Right now, I personally don’t. But if you want a cool bag that’ll last and you currently don’t have one, I’d go for the Kanken. And they’re really not very expensive, so it won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
I can honestly say that I hate rain boots. They’re typically awkward and not very easy to walk in. And boy, do they make your feet all sweaty and icky! So, when my sister said she needed to borrow mine for a trip, I was glad to hand them over.
Simply browsing one of my favorite shops online store, I came across these and my eyes widened and a smile came across my face. Good looking rain boots? Gasp! My life has changed forever….
The olive green Off Shore Boot by Seavees isn’t exactly cheap, but if you hate normal rain boots and live in a city that gets nasty weather a lot, (like me) then maybe this boot is exactly what you need.
Plus, they’re really nice boots, so you can actually still look good while wearing them. Ladies, they come in sizes from 6-10, no half sizes. If these shoes fit the bill, click on the image to the Need Supply site and snatch them while they’re hot!
Attention dapper, young men:
This blazer is perfect for you. Military cut in a gorgeous, navy blue with brass buttons and lovely attention to detail, this blazer is simply stunning. Yes, it’s $70 so it’s not cheap…but if purchased, it would likely become a stable item in your wardrobe.
I can picture it now:
A young man walking down the street wearing this blazer with a tucked in forest green and navy plaid oxford, dark charcoal grey slacks and black leather dress shoes sipping on a black coffee and mysteriously gazing at the people who surround him. My God, is he beautiful. Where is he going? Everyone wonders. Probably somewhere wonderful….
Holy Gaga….
I don’t care who you are, if you are a young woman, a form-fitting black mini skirt is seriously a must. This skirt is just begging for women to buy it. Six bucks for a black skirt? Are you kidding me?!
Find your closest H&M and buy it right now. Don’t worry about the fact that every girl in the world is probably going to want this skirt. Mini black skirts today are like the little black dress of fashion. This is a staple item and it’s cheap, so you may as well buy two or three.
Match it with a graphic tee or V-neck and some flats and you have a cool, casual look. Match it with a fancy top and wedges and you have a great going out look. Match it with an oversized sweater, boots, and a scarf and have a comfy, Fall look.
Do you get my point? The list goes on and on! You can create hundreds of outfits with one simple skirt. How fabulous.
I can’t even explain how much I love scarves. There’s something magical about them. You can be wearing a simple outfit and completely transform it by adding a scarf. What’s great about “scarves” is that the term today is being stretched more and more. Most people think of them as either a tool to keep you warm or a fun, little accessory. I look at a scarf as a little mystery. A transformer. Scarves aren’t for everyone, but if they’re for you, then this scarf is a must.
Sold at H&M this season for under $20, this faux-fur circle scarf is eye-catching, dramatic, and would definitely transform your outfit. Maybe even your whole persona.
Keep it simple with a solid black outfit and knee-high boot or warm up with a oversized sweater and military jacket. No matter what, it’s gonna look great with this seasons fashions. So what are you waiting for? Shop Away!
I used to be an earring girl, but over this past year, I’ve come to realize that I enjoy adorning my hands with pretty things much more. These animal hunting-inspired bronze rings sold at H&M speak to me specifically. I love them paired all together, but they’d also stand great alone or with another simple gold or bronze band.
Perfect for Fall and Winter and probably not very expensive. Unfortunately, I stumbled across this image randomly, so I am unaware as to whether or not they are still available for purchase.
Power strips, though very handy, are usually ugly and annoying. This Cross Power Surge by Alexander Pincus, however, is not.
Essentially all he did was add the horizontal bar to the normal cord and clean up the lines a bit. But by doing so, he has opened up a whole new world. You all know you have those annoying charges…the chunky phone charger, the awkward music player charger. You name it…sometimes you just can’t charge everything at once because it simply doesn’t fit. This design by Mr. Pincus makes this problem seemingly inexistent.
In a world where technology is pretty much a necessity, I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t want something like this in their home.
It really plays into the idea that we have no excuse for bad design in society, and I really like that.
I post a lot of Marc Jacobs items and it’s for a good reason. Mr. Jacobs is a great designer and his special items store reflects nothing short of that.
Having said this, check out this awesome skate-inspired graphic tee. 100% cotton so you know it’s comfy! What I love most about this shirt is that it’s simple and eye-catching. Dress it down with jeans and Vans or dress it up with slacks and some Clarks…either way, you’re going to look good wearing it.
Want to know something even better? All proceeds go to the Savannah Skate Park and it’s only $35. So now you can wear a great tee and feel good about yourself at the same time!
